my friend, selassie I himself was a christian. and preached to praise god and jesus, not him. and the word jah is relevant to christianity rastafari and judaism. psalm 68:4 of the king james bible "Sing to God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rides on the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him."

@hardjosue ///do they use sacred herbal sacraments?
-
@hardjosue No it doesn't. The term "Rastafari" comes from the name of His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie before his coronation. Before being crowned "Negus" his title was "Ras" and his full name was "Tafari Makonnen" - Hence "RasTafari". RasTafari is also a name for God since it can be translated as "Master of the creation" and as far as I know, it has nothing to do with greek.

@chinwendu1 I doubt he would say that, from the articles I'm seeing, he seemed to pull this facade on quite many people without saying anything
-
I think I recall reading that he told them he is NOT A GOD or the Messiah but certain people keep praising him as such. Please double check it
-
@bassplayer489 He claimed he was the returned Messiah, which is untrue. If he really was a christian, then he wouldnt have made such a claim. The rest about Jah is true though.

Pronounced CHRIST-AH-FAR-EYE, in Greek, the original language of the New Testament, Christafari is the name given to "a group of people who collectively represent Christ."
