Decca master TB 2752-1, rec. London, January 1937.
Four unknown singers with own guitar accompaniment.
Neither identical with the American slide-guitar group of the late 1920s, nor with the 1950s crooners of the same name, this seems to be a British group that was mightily impressed by the Mills Brothers' continental tours of the 1930s. Some have suggested this group may have been the Four Crotchets under disguise, but at least to my ears the voices sound quite different, although the style is similar. So unless one of you enlightens us, this remains more or less a mystery group.
@JuNeYsE78 Hello my name is Emma Maton, I am Barry Tinsleys great granddaughter! I cannot believe this is on here. My nan was delighted to hear her dad is on youtube, he died in 1995 the year I was born.
Great to see someone else is related to them! :) I'd love to hear a reply!
