Claudia Picado

Cláudia Picado is part of the new generation of fado singers who are trying to reborn the Fado
Music.
Born in the 17th of May of 1984 in Cadaval - Portugal, Cláudia started to sing Fado with only 12
years old by the hand of her father who encouraged the participation in the Great Night of Fado at
Lisbons Coliseum. With only 14 years she receives the greatest compliments from the public and
juries, winning an honoured third place.
In 1999 she participates in the Great Night of the Fado in Porto where winning the first place for
feminine interpretation.
Since that day she started a regular activity with shows all over the country, with invitations to some
of the biggest shows of Fado Music.
Her energy on stage was early notice. With the feeling of Fado growing in her soul, Cláudia is
invited in 2001 by the great Fado singer Carlos Zel to participate in his show at Casino Estoril,
where she would be back three years later.
With an early start in some of the most renown Fado houses, Cláudia has already sang at Clube do
Fado, Mesa de Frades, Taverna do Embuçado, Luso, Bacalhau de Molho. Currently Cláudia
performance can be seen at Marques da Sé, a typical Fado House owned by the fado singer
Alexandra.
Cláudia is also invited to integrate the opening of Tristão da Silva square in Lisbon and the shows
Recordar Alfredo Marceneiro and Hermínia Silva.
