Bill O'Reilly keeps talking about patriotism but the kind of views he has would have a negative impact on America if enforced. Giving the government unrestricted power in regards to terrorist suspects is totalitarian, not libertarian. Also, for someone who keeps praising the military, he has never been in the military himself, and has disrespected soldiers who voiced objection to the neocon wars he supports. Nation building and oppressing other countries has nothing to do with patriotism anyway.

Someone who questions what is going on in their government. & doesn't shout slogans. There is a difference between a nationalist (people who usually refer to themselves & each other as patriots) & real patriots.

@MrKingstonAnderson you certainly can, in fact the bible teaches that, but not everyone gets it.
Some folks are ok fathering kids with many women, stealing and adultering and killing, some of us have more common sense, respect the law and everyone else around us.

Being patriotic is cutting back our military so they don't create so many problems for us.

but how can you love and sacrafice for something that is just an idea or better yet a thought. there are no real borders in natrue in reality, they do not exist. I am willing to be challenged on that

Personally i would not describe america as a noble nation. It is a nation built on genocide. And today is the largest terrorist state in the world.

A patriot is someone who loves Liberty... Where Liberty dwell there is my country.
A patriot is someone who is not afraid to voice dissent even when the majority are willing to fork over Liberty in exchange for a little perceived security.
A patriot is someone who realizes they have an overflowing abundance and willingly shares with others without economic, political, religious, or social manipulation / coercion.
