  • the variator, for my knowledge, makes another noise, u can find it on the tube. The only thing on this sound is the tappet (or valve, as u prefer) sound....hear that tic tic tic that sounds like a watch?? Not dramatic but needs to be cheked....

  • Variator for sure!

  • I do not think it's the variator because it makes a metallic sound, such as diesel. But I think that might be the tensioner or one of the pulleys, the last time you change the timing belt? It should be done every 60,000 to 70,000 km, or you risk breaking valves and more ...looks like the engine of my 146, which has done 220,000 km only replacing the variator, spark plugs, clutch, rack and steering pump .ButI had the satisfaction of making 1300 km in 9.5 hours and 3 fines for excess speed ;-)

  • sounds normal

  • when the vairtator goes, it will sound like a diesel,

  • Sounds normal to me, when it sounds like a tractor then it needs replacing, normally changed along with belts and idlers, tensioners etc every 3 years..

Change oil every 6 months 5w/ 40 fully synthetic oe oil filter and variator will last maybe 5 years....
