Vai is a little student of his teacher Satritooti and both ripped off Van Halen, they'd be nothing without Eddie, both just knock offs, but at least Satritoot did some cool tunes, Vai just tried to one up his teachers.

@applejive43 You might add that Vai and Satriani among others also copied Eddie too. Van Halen did real well, it was a good chemistry. But after Roth left and Van Halen got Hagar it reminded me of a perfect couple that breaks up and tries to pretend to be happy with their new partners, but it's obvious they are with inadequate substitutes. Of course we'd have to imagine the Van Halen split was a "gay couple" split since they were all actually men regardless of Dave's gay hair. But nevertheless.

@koletski21 well, every frontman of the late 80's basically copied david lee roth, so he had some sort of influence I GUESS, and vai is frequently put on lists of great guitarists, but you are obviously a homophobe so i dont regard you with any decency, fact is that these guys are very famous, successful, and good at what they do so i just find it in bad taste when assholes like you put down someone else for doing what they love

Solo : it was the shit. Eddie's the man , and Vai's OUT!

@applejive43 Wow! "Most respected MUSICIANS of ALL TIME" Do you get out much? I'm guessing if those two burnouts impress you to say such then your world might be very small. Vai was an expert at making fart noises on the guitar. Roth was good at yodeling in the mic and shaking his gay butt and bleaching his hair like a homo, is this what you call a musician? Yeah I was impressed when I was 15 yrs. old too. But now I see them as they really were.

@koletski21 no... this is david lee roth and steve vai, two of the most respected musicians of all time

Bunch of homos! Prancing around like trannys expecting to be poked in their gay butts.

@issofunky ..I love Vai, Billy and Gregg...But this cd was good....not great, Bottom Line, Skyscraper, Hot Dog and a Shake, Hina, Two fools a minute are good.......but get a clue...the last good thing he did?.....his playing on Slip of the Tongue is really good....and solo....Crying Machine and I'm the hell out of here(w/Gregg), Lotus feet, For The Love of God, Window To The Soul, Erotic Nightmares, Blue powder and so on..........open your ears and close your mouth.....shit is pouring out of it!

@AndJusticeForMe ....Everyone is excited cause DLR is back...yea they got excited for VH 3 too didnt they!?....You know nothing bout music if you think Vai sounds like EVH....Vai took the guitar to a level even EVH cant touch. EVH is great and does great w/a band. Look at Vai's career w/bands and solo..it speaks for itself..Grammy winning as a solo artist..u dont have to like him, but u cant change these facts........y r u even here...go listen to Metallica..,talk about no excitement....please!
-
@mikeybbdrummin Of course Vai loves VH; he made a career out of imitating him. Vai is dead and the whole world is electric over the new VH music that is coming soon. Does anyone ever get this excited over a Vai project? Um, let me see...nope.
@Zachhecrote14 evh is a diffrent copy of steve vai lol

I saw Dave and Steve in 88, I guess on the Skyscraper tour. Loudest concert I've ever been to, almost too loud. I wish this band lineup had stayed together. Eat'em and Smile is still one of my favorites.
