  • One of a kind and an utterly magnificent voice. What was going through the mind of that king, anyway? Why make people bow down to a flea? Ticks are better! I think Mussorgsky was a genius.

  • fantastic this is here! What a voice and personality!

  • How could the meaning of this song have escaped the attention of the tsars? Musorgsky is lucky he didn't wind up in prison or worse. What a performance, dwafs all others. A basso for all repertoire.

  • Il existe une meilleure version...

  • When was this recorded?

  • One of a kind and few listeners today realize the singers of Chaliapin and Christoff actually understood what they were magnificantly singning. Thanks Ufelan.

  • My uncle used to play this for me when I was only 4 years old. It tells the story of a king who had a flea that tickled him---ha ha ha ha ha, blokha.
