well politically there will be bitter taste in the mouth for everybody. But economically, the ties between RI-Timor Leste is better than ever. Timor Leste is getting their consumer goods from Indonesia, while Indonesian farmers purchasing cows from Timor Leste. Recently in Bali Ramos Horta meet with one big Indonesia garment producer to invest in Timor leste (because Timor Leste has no tariff & barriers exporting to US) So economically both sides are building cooperation.

24-25 years of fighting. @sartang have you been to Timor Leste recently? That place is peaceful. In my month there, I hadn't seen violent at all. There all friendly, at least towards me. Poverty tho is true but it will improve seeing as we are getting help from a few countries and have alot of oil. We are poor, but not stupid. Stupid would be letting a country take over your land and kill 1/3 of your people's population and not do anything about it. Viva Fretilin!
