Amtrak 280 blows for the track crew at Barrytown

Amtrak Train 280, the southbound thru train from Niagara Falls to New York-Penn Station, blows, first at me and a fellow buff, as we sat on the hillside and waved, and then continued to blow for the track crews who were doing extensive work on CP94, just a few feet down the line. This is Barrytown, located about 5 miles south of Tivoli. Train 280 consists of Genesis P32ACDM 711, and 7 Amfleet I's. The male voice you hear over the radio is the track foreman just south of our location. The female voice is the engineer of 280, talking to the foreman , informing him she is clear of CP94. A. Its a P32ACDM, not a P42. B. there was only one engine. I am not sure what you are seeing. if you are referring to the blackish stuff towards the rear of the engine, thats just stains made by oil.
