Dao, the therapy dog, served his community for 5 years as a medical therapy dog in his local hospital. He won awards, including Therapy Dog of the Year for 2003 from USA Today.

He was a typical chow, with personality and smarts, but a sweet streak and tons of love. In his last year on the earth plane, he loved companionship and being petted. He loved his walks, his car rides, his doggy friends, his people and being there for us. He was an angel dog. We will miss him.
We adopted Dao through the ASPCA 12 years ago. He received 2 hip replacements (required to keep him from pain) and was completely free of pain for many years. In his last year he was delicate but enthusiastic. We will miss him.
