I did a few tests on my JVC GZ-MG330 camcorder, this is not a review, but rather a quick test of the low light sensitivity of this camcorder.
I used my old standby Panasonic PV-DV103 to compare it to.
NOTE: I also used the Panasonic to film at the start of this video.
I have checked other users who gave reviews of this camera and some say that the zoom does not respond when pushed or after shooting you stop and try to record again.
Well....that is because after shooting, the data is being written to the HD, while that is going on no funtions work until that little green light stops flashing.
So check that light, if it is flashing....WAIT.
That little green light means it is accssing the HD.
Another hint: If you see the red light blinking when you close the view finder, that means the camera is in the "Quick Start" mode, you will have to push the "power" button to turn it off...OR...turn off "Quick Start"
I found out those things by using this camera, you will not find this info. in the book.
Good little camcorder all around, NOT a professional camcorder, but for what I paid, it is very good.

  • i got this camera but when i am up to closed to something the video looks tall and wide. can you tell me why? thanks... great demo!

  • @klv400 Things are going to look very large when getting up close, like taking a video of a small animal, on a large tv screen it would look huge, just the way it is.

  • Hi im thinkin of bying this camera! But how is the quality on them? I mean does it record well??? Is it stable?

  • Hi Yes it is, the quality is good but not quite as good as a mini DV camcorder using tape, those are better.

    Otherwise it is very good.

  • THANK YOU! So you think this camera is worth bying?

  • Yes, I paid $150 for mine at a closeout from Walmart, I would not pay anymore than $200 for it though.

I since bought another camcorder a JVC GRD-A30 mini DV for $99 also at walmart closeout.

You can't beat the mini DV tape camcorders as long as you don't mind changing tapes.
