Healthy nest of Bombus hypnorum. They react quite aggressive when opening the nest box. That explains why the shots are rather short and of poor quality.

  • I only see Bombus hypnorum: white tail and a brown thorax.

  • Good camera shots. I guess they are not that aggressive given how close you are to the nest.

  • Last year I had a much large nest of this species and made videos without being stung once. This nest however is more aggressive and I have been stung several times. Considering to buy myself a beekeeper suit.

  • Is that a cuckoo bee at 0:32? Looks like a different species.

  • Probably a wise investment. Or film a B Terrestris nest instead - they don't seem to sting as much!
