  • IMO, Function > Form. But if you like the cool sound over power then that's on you. That roar isn't going to help a car win a race, just my 2c.

  • @pickmelter38 I knew when I was taking it off I would be losing around .5-3 horsepower. Considering I live in Virginia, with the overly strict laws, cops, and such, I'm not all that conerned about power, because the sound, since it was a free mod basically, is worth the non-noticeable loss in power.

  • I have a 2000 AP1. u gotta admit tho, it sounds beef-ier. I drive w/o the cover. I do feel the power drain when I have that thing very warmed up.

  • @evillagra69 Very true. It only becomes more noticeable in the warmer seasons. Then again, I live in VA, considering how strict they are here, having the loss in power probably keeps me out of trouble lol

  • hey i don't know that much about modifying cars but did u just change the intake filter and left the rest stock? it looks pretty sick and with that cover makes it even better. I have an AE86 and now I am planning on buying a white S2000 with black/red interior. Please reply to my comment.... thanks!

  • Kudos to your AE86, they are amazing little machines. Grey import or a modded ADM Corolla Sport?

  • Taking it off would only hurt performance (fyi to those who will think it will increase power.)

  • better sound... less power

  • Hoo nice setup

  • Im pretty sure he was talking about the filter not the cover. My stock intake filter was green as well. Now its red... K&N!

  • the tube connecting your filter is ridged, and stock, and the ridges are restrictive to the air....so you really didnt do much but, when the top is off change the sound (which was very nice lol) and in doing that taking in the hot air...

  • kinda weak i thougt it would be worse than that. i guess im used to weber carburators=)
