Song: Solstice Evergreen
Artist: Spiral Dance
Album: The Quickening

It came as a scene
From an old picture postcard
Of victorian ladies
With skates on their feet

Of ponds frozen over
And boughs hung with ice-tips
And through frosty panes
Watch the snow and the sleet

And the smoke ventured out
From soot blackened chimmneys
And shimmered beneath
An icy cold moon

But inside an evergreen
Stands in the corner
And a bright blazing fire
To keep out the gloom

There's holly and ivy
And white mistleberry
The sun isn't hiding
His face he can't show

So fill up your glasses
So we can be merry
While rosy red cheeks
By the firelight glow

Under the streeet lights
They'll gather together
Their shivering voices
Will ring out in song

To sing in the yule
Regardless of weather
And brighten the darkness
All the night long

And the mama's preform
The plays from the ages
In comes King George's
All courage bold

While out in the orchards
We'll go wassailing
And sip on spiced cider
To keep out the cold

There's holly and ivy
And white mistleberry
The sun isn't hiding
His face he can't show

So fill up your glasses
So we can be merry
While rosy red cheeks
By the firelight glow

The holly and oak king
Are now changing places
And jack frost is wearing
His new winter vest

While under the wood pile
Old jack green is sleeping
To awaken in spring
From his long deep rest

So on this yuletide
We'll gather together
Beneath the sign of
The ancient gods horns

As the new year beckons
Through cold misty weather
We'll raise a toast
As the suin is reborn

There's holly and ivy
And white mistleberry
The sun isn't hiding
His face he can't show

So fill up your glasses
So we can be merry
While rosy red cheeks
By the firelight glow

It came as a scene
From an old picture postcard
Of victorian ladies
With skates on their feet

Of ponds frozen over
And boughs hung with ice-tips
And through frosty panes
Watch the snow and the sleet

And the smoke ventured out
From soot blackened chimmneys
And shimmered beneath
An icy cold moon

But inside an evergreen
Stands in the corner
And a bright blazing fire
To keep out the gloom

There's holly and ivy
And white mistleberry
The sun isn't hiding
His face he can't show

So fill up your glasses
So we can be merry
While rosy red cheeks
By the firelight glow

There's holly and ivy
And white mistleberry
The sun isn't hiding
His face he can't show

So fill up your glasses
So we can be merry
While rosy red cheeks
By the firelight glow

  • @Shaden0040 One last thing, we don't hate them as Norsemen and women don't have hatred, we respect their views but we don't follow it and if they try by force to convert us...we will kill them but still respect them...^^

  • @Shaden0040 So yes and no depending on where you are stating that off from...the restoration of Norse or the conversion during the 2nd crusade? The only reason the History books don't detail this and limit it is due to the destruction of those who knew the truth and those writing were christian and trying to not look so bad with their history lol.....or they were paid lol or even forced due to court cases....its what they tend to do....

  • @Shaden0040 It wasn't like they just stole them, the altered them and basically tried using them as conversion tools during the crusades...many faked conversion and used the witching hour to honor the Aesir and Vanir as they avoided battle, some did convert the cowards and traitors, but it wasn't stealing it was a a conversion tool it wasn't till like the 1800s that the Catholic Church started making them Christian holidays and stole them....to cover it up more during the restoration

  • @Shaden0040 Correct, and this is coming from a Norwegian, viking descent my mixed heritage is kinda fucked up lol 80-85% Norwegian, the rest is a mix up of Romanian, Spaniard and German dating Anglo Saxon. Tall, tough, wise, honorable, Norseman, Odinist but not the racist kind. :D And though they didn't quite steal it what happened was it was like the Adam and Eve aka Lif and lifthrasir, redoing the Eddas, altering Ragnarok, adding good and evil, Easter well Ostara to be exact...

  • Blessed Yule to all. )O(

  • @joeysneddon actually there is nothing Xmassy about this song. It is 100% original pagan. Christianity stole all of their myths about Jesus.

  • Love it!

  • Love it <3 thanks for posting it blessed be )o(

  • Adore this song. So christmassy. I can almost feel my ears getting chilly listening to it ^-^
