I heard osmeone talk about fishes that permanently transform your pet. How does that work!?

I've been fishing for hours now and I haven't got any fish that permanently transforms my pet. (i believe it's called 'giant fish')

You can't get a permanent pet change through fishing. I believe it's done through a vendor in town. The manual should tell you how if you know where to find it.

@BafflingBlake I was fishing in torch light and got a Giant web fish which turns pet into a spider permanent

@BafflingBlake You can, there's just a very very low chance of actually getting one of them. The Torchlight wiki has the exact rates, but it's something like .01% chance of getting one.

@BafflingBlake Giant fish make the transition permanent, provided you don't use another (temporary) fish, as when that wears off you'll be back to the dog/cat

you can get permanent pet changes through fishing. Yesterday i did get "Giant web fish". Discription on that fish says "Transforms your pet permanently into spider" and "WARNING: This transform is permanent" or something like that.
