I love your cake it look really cute. What cake pans did you use for each layer? What size board did you use for the base? My friend asked me to make this cake for his baby 1st birthday so I don't want to mess this up. Any help would be great. Thanks!!!

i used to buy satin ice ( brand ) and i only used that before. now i know how to make my own marshmallow fondant and it saves me a ton of money doing so. so unless it's red, black or brown ( very hard colors to make at home )- i make mm fondant instead

Thank you, Mayen, for your quick response. One more question from me: When you put the buttercream on the outside of the honeycomb, where did you do this? Did you do it directly on your decorated cake board or somewhere else and then transferred it to your cakeboard?

I put the buttercream somewhere else-- and after covering it with fondant and all has been trimmed on the sides--only then will i transfer on a fondant covered cakeboard. Any smear or droplet on the fondant cakeboard may leave marks -- so i want it clean and crisp-- hope that helps :)

Hello, Mayen! Could you please tell me how you got the honeycomb shape from your three cake layers? Did you create it with buttercream first and then lay fondant? Or did you carve the cake layers a bit rounder? Cakes are in the oven now, so I would appreciate any help! Thank you!

oh my, this response may be too late... but i filled the cake and then carved it. and then put on the buttercream on the outside later on.
