  • studio lights don't work like that, underexposed means just that, less light.

  • I repeat: add more power to the gelled light and the colour will be lighter. E.g., Red gel on background light: increase power of light by one stop, say, the colour will be lighter, more pink. Decrease power by one stop, the red colouration will be deeper. This works in practice and you can't avoid the physics here. I don't want my comments removed and I value people putting videos up to help teach people about light but the statement Christian makes is misleading.

  • Surely the colour will be stronger with less power, i.e. underexposed? More power will make the background lighter.
