@highvoltaged, @ianislavus: in the beginning, there was Paul Desmond's song "Take Five", a strictly instrumental masterpiece for many years. Playing it any slower than the familiar way would have destroyed it's verve, and, of course, you would think of it as being way too fast for a vocal.
But when Carmen inquired with Dave Brubeck about lyrics to the Quartet's tunes, he liked the idea of making some. On "Take Five", Cl 2316, recorded live at Basin Street East, she demonstrates her mastery!

SO NICE WOLF!!!
I can hear you have so much fun!!
I like it!!!
You jazzy friend from Amsterdam!!!
Its a hard tune for a singer to sing, unless you are Carmen, Al, or Kurt.
Take it slow at first and find that Groove, think Mission Impossible.
When I 1st tried to sing it , it was mission impossible. lol
