  • I just saw the film, but I don't know, I don't undertand Helen's reason(s)... why has she depression? what was happened with her earlier in her life, in her first marriage? Why had she then and why has she now? or the depression has no reason? Mathilda had one "good" reason, that was her mother who left her alone, commited suicide. But what happened with Helen? Or it (the depression) is just there one day? (so sorry for the bad english!)

  • @WalkingMsDead Totally understand everything you said. xxx

  • I think that ending is making it seem less complicated. Oh once the family is really there it gets better. As if the family even bothers to stay in the first place.

  • Depression has no scientific evidence behind it. Even the 'chemical changes' - the apparent cause of depression - are unproven. Depression is a BEHAVIOUR. As Thomas Szasz says: no behaviour nor misbehaviour can be classed as a disease.

  • @WalkingMsDead I feel for you

  • You get anxiety, you get suicidal, you lose friends, family, love, everything. You just lose yourself and that's the only thing in life you definitely do not want to lose.

  • I have depression, it's the worst thing in my life. You're feel trapped in yourself and you can't get out. And death seems like the only choice. It's worse than breaking a leg and not being able to walk for a while.

With depression nobody understands you because they don't know how you feel no matter how much you say it. It's not like you have a day where you want to lay in bed all day. It's being tired even if you just slept for 12 hours.

  • @ToolFan68 you are a complete idiot.

  • @ToolFan68 god you're ignorant! depression is a REAL illness. would you say that to someone with cancer? no you would not. keep your rude comments to yourself.

  • @sbenn75 Why... you don't think it would work... or you just don't want to believe it would work? I have seen too many women that claim depression when what they really have is a self centered naval-gazing fascination with having everyone around them feel sorry for them at all times. Are there truly clinically depressed people? Yep. But are there a whole lot more people that are doing it for attention and to feel sorry for themselves? Yep.
