Main quest is short, but all the other side quests, secret quests and unmarked quests

it takes quite a time to do all of those.

tats the way fallout is, once u finish the game, ur done and cant continue. the only way to continue is the reload an old save or get the broken steel dlc

The next fallout will be a spin off because the story wont be continued. Itll be Fallout: New Vegas, which will be at the same general time with a completely detached story. Bethesda said FO: NV will be somewhat like FO3. And yes in the good ending, you decide to sacrifice yourself, in the bad, you refuse to, and you force someone else to.
