I barely remember a summer in Cornwall when an "uncle" showed me how to whistle with my hands clasped, and by blowing on my thumbs. I was perhaps 4, and the "uncle" was supposedly Roger Whittaker who lived in Birmingham at that time (really a very distant, albeit older and adult cousin). It's funny how when your name is synonymous with a famous person, how people out of the blue will ask you if you know the man. The answer I always tell is the truth - that I never have... but I wish I did, I do.

Sorry about that. I had a lot of them and just sync'd them to the music. You can certainly pause the video at any time to look at them longer.

Yes this is the correct version here and is my favorite song by him but sadly it never gets played anywhere over here in the US any more. I don't think it was a hit here except maybe on the Easy Listening charts. Thanks for sharing the original version.

i am not 15..I am 57 and when I was maybe 14 when this song came out..and it makes me want to cry as well but only because many people my mother included has passed..and when I hear this song I think of all the people including my mom that is No longer on this earth..This song stirs memories of a Time Long Gone never ever to return.
