This is a two part video of common misconceptions people have about evolution.

Comic 2:

Transitionals Part 1a:
http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-transitional/part1a.html
(This page includes a list of some Transitions of Primitive Jawless Fish to Sharks, Skates, and Rays. Transitions of Primitive Jawless Fish to Primitive Bony Fish. From Primitive Bony Fish to Amphibians. And some transitions among amphibians (Aka species variation while still remaining within the classification of amphibian)

Transitionals Part 1b:
http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-transitional/part1b.html
(This page includes a list of some transitions of Amphibians to Amniotes (early reptiles). Some More transitions among reptiles. From Synapsid Reptiles to Mammals. Transition from Diapsid Reptiles to Birds (This is where the famous Archepteryx was assigned. Just to be clear it is Reptile to Bird not Vice-versa).

Transitionals Part 2a:
http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-transitional/part2a.html
(This page includes some transitions within Primates. Some Bat Transitions and Dog Transictions, as well as Bears, Raccoons, Weasels, Seals, Sea lions & Walruses, Civets (viverrids, Cats, Hyeanids. Rodents including: Squirrels, Beavers, Rats/mice/voles, and Cavies.)

Transitionals Part 2b:
http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-transitional/part2b.html
(Includes: Lagomorphs, Condylarths (The first hoofed animals), Cetaceans (whales, dolphins), Perissodactyls (Horses, tapirs, rhinos), Elephants, Sirenians, (dugongs & manatees))

Transitionals Part 2c:
http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-transitional/part2c.html
(Includes: Artiodactyls (cloven-hoofed animals): Hippos & pigs, Camels, Ruminants)

All of those talkorigins links also include a breif insight and some links to insights on Evolution and Creationary Philosophy. An Excellent read overall and I recommend at least a skim.

  • Gene mutations result in a loss of information. There is no known natural law through which matter can give rise to information, neither is there any physical process or material phenomenon known that can do this. All information must come from a higher source of information.

Also, the fossil record only exists on paper because fossils are found in layers where they shouldn't be all the time. Fossils do show that animals were the same then as they are now, only they were usually bigger then.

  • You're an idiot. I'm too tired and sick of the stupidity of you and your lot to bother arguing this fully. Miller-Yuri Experiment, development of some 20 amino acids. Mutation of ACCA makes ACCC new information is added.

  • The truth is,deep down you know there's a God and someday you will have to stand before Him to give an account for your life. But you don't want to admit it so you hunt down any information you can to disprove it to yourself. That's why you are so passionate about vocalizing your atheism.Come on, you're a really smart guy.Why run away from God,when you can run toward Him?He loves you and wants a relationship with you.He even sent His Son to die in your place and sends you the good news constantly.

  • I truly believe your god and all gods are myths. I also accept that you are indeed, an idiot. It was probably quite easy to sell the god myth to your nearly blank slate. I will not respond further as there is no point. Your pathetic attempt at an argument has been refuted before.

  • @Ethrock It's ironic how you talked about accepting other religions for a momment in your video.

  • @clockekagnaz I Do accept peoples religious beliefs, what I don't accept is when they try to utilize those beliefs to undermine the education or understanding of others, and the advancement of civilization.

That's not ironic, you're just an idiot.

  • You are very intelligent!

  • Creationists use the "just a theory" stance to make it appear as though evolutionists are just pulling a guess out of their ass and calling it a theory. In actuality, a hypothesis would be a guess, while a theory is an explanation backed up by facts and observable evidence, supported by years of research.

  • Should also be pointed out that, when they say "just a theory", they are using the layman's definition of the term "theory." Aka, an educated guess. Like saying,"my theory is that blah blah blah." In scientific vocabulary, a theory is described as "an educated explanation supported by observational data and mostly, or entirely, factual evidence." It is not a guess, but an assessment of facts to support a hypothesis.(which is actually what an educated guess is)

  • @101rstr - I know that humans were not created with perfect genetics, because humans do not have perfect genetics. I also do not beleive that humans were created. Can you prove that humans were created? How do you know? You don't. What you do know, is that you're grasping at straws. Why not just give up and try something you're more qualified to discuss?

  • @101rstr - I don't understand your statement. My position is logical. We developed through a systematic process. Your position is illogical, there must have been a creator for that system. Your position requires an assertion which is based on no empirical evidence, whereas mine makes no claim about a source of life...and therefore does is not exposed to such "gaps". Better luck next time.

  • @101rstr - I will post these responses one by one, from bottom up. We do not live in a world where everything breaks down constantly, and the 2nd law of thermodynamics does not play any role in that. In fact, the 2nd law of thermodynamics states pretty much the complete opposite of that. I recommend reading more on this subject if you want to actually be making informed statements.

  • @JDOANY

How do you know humans were not created with perfect genetics?

Do you believe your genetics are better than you parents'? This also implies that you may be more genetically "evolved" than other ethnic groups of people.

If you inherit your parents' genes along with some harmful/lethal mutations, and you pass those genes on with your harmful/lethal gene mutations, how many generations will pass until these harmful mutations are predominant? We're getting less healthy as generations pass.

  • @JDOANY

This is not a logical position at all because it does not follow the premise that matter can exist and life can come from non-life without cause. It also does not follow that anything can develop against entropy without cause or that there can exist any systematic processes or natural/scientific/mathematical laws without a form of eternal government and eternal information. In every way, the universe and everything in it requires not just any god, but the Biblical God.

  • @JDOANY

No contradiction, God is eternal and His information is never lost. It is, however, lost to us. We live in a broken world where everything breaks down constantly and the 2nd law of thermodynamics plays a big role in that. This includes genetic information and it implies at some point things were much better.Your concern for contradictions shows you believe in the laws of logic(a correct standard of reasoning). These and all other laws aren't possible in an ungoverned, chance universe.

  • The logical position is that life came into being through an extremely long period of time of development, in accordance with a specific systematic process (not chaos or randomness). The nature of the universe is pure law and order...and it is this way sans a God. The "known natural laws" you refer to are simply prescribed laws which we deem to be observable tendencies. There are likely "effects" of this nature we have yet to observe. This in now way implies that a God must be present.
