@cjf7991 You realize you responded to yourself right?
French is a beautiful language, a beautiful culture. I am not French at all, but I can tell you some of the best pussy is French.

@malimonson Why weird? Clarke was the easiest Islander to approach and he put himself out there to sign autographs and talk to the fans. They didn't call him the gentle giant for nothing.
If you go to the Coliseum you can see him at the Marriot getting a bite to eat before the game. Walk right up to him and say hi, he will crack a huge smile and BS with you for a couple of minutes, shake your hand and tell you he hopes you enjoy the game.
He is awesome.

@atiboy1 Every team is always looking for the "next Clarke Gillies type." His name is still mentioned and players like Bertuzzi were drafted because they thought he possessed those traits, but no one has come close to being that big, that strong and that gifted with the puck. Gillies was a consistant 30 goal scorer for the Isles and mind you, he scored some goals that for a big man, your mouth would hit the floor because you couldn't believe how smooth he was with that stick.

The story goes. Gillies invited Hospodar over his house for dinner when the two were playing for the Sabers. Some time during dinner Brooke(Clarke Gillies very young daughter at the time) turned to Eddie Hospodar and said "Mr.Hospodar? Do you have any of your teeth left?"
True story.

Gilles was a great team player, good hockey player, and when provoked-- a feared fighter.....Im a Ranger fan and I saw a lot of him.... Gillies was a huge part of the Islanders cup teams. Just an all around force.

@tammyskor I totally disagree with you! Gilles was NOT ''a thug''. If you didn't mess with Gilles- He didn't mess with you. Clarke Gilles was also a very good player who scored goals and made many assists.
