Pretty simple job. Just follow the vid and save money. After a bit of reading, I would suggest not using FRAM filters. They seem to have a history of clogging. Use WIX or Motorcraft.

  • I also have a jeep liberty and found it easier to undo oil filter from above

  • @Olddog231 mine has the electric fan and i have to get mine from the bottom. the ones without the electric fan are easy from the top like you said.

  • @elchicoboy yes this is true. i think the manual says to turn the cap until you hear 3 or 4 clicks. i turn mine about 8 clicks just to be sure its on. if i were you, id go to autozone and let them do a free scan for ya, then go from there.

  • @elchicoboy the check engine light can be caused by anything and everything. as far as the oil goes, yes, full synthetic is the best imo and it pays for itself by allowing you to go longer between changes. my personal opinion is, even with synthetic, i wouldnt go over 6k between changes. for the check engine light, again it could be anything. just make sure your oil level is good and the filter and plug are tight. thats about all you can do for that part.

  • @satchelmcqueenvideo my neighbour told me sometimes that if you dont tighten enough the gas cap, the check engine might turn on too.

  • I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty and I bought it used. car runs fine but after 2 days of use, check engine turned on. my neighbour told me it could be sometimes the oxygen sensor. manual says sometimes using regular gas would make this happen. here regular gas is 87 octane. car has 101,XXX miles. i changed the oil to castrol gtx 5w-30.

  • @joecrackthe in mine was impossible too. i just took two wrenches and one fit in the screw, the other in the other end and i just pull like hell! haha
