  • Very good.

But why are you blocking your own uploads? What happened to "The Instrument Is an Illusion"?

  • @snaaptaker I'm not blocking, it's a YouTube problem.

  • I don't quite understand what he's saying about repetition. So I can't repeat a challenging line in order to be able to play it better? He said in one of the other videos that this is a music that you learn "by doing it."

  • @legatoman you got to know the process.

  • this is mindblowing.

  • But, is it possible to develop fast ears as tatum or was he born with that gift?

    That's my question.

  • love these vids

  • the technique is in the brain comment makes perfect sense if you remember that certain musical "savants" who have no musical training can play complex melodies and chords on the piano after only one listen.

  • Thanks for these Hal Garper videos. They are brilliant!

  • Man this just made my day. I play alto saxophone and this is simply enlightening.

  • This makes so much sense. the reason I can't play fast is because I have nothing to play at that speed.
