@jonnyBravo51 Oh Mama. no, I am not an engineer. but. 1) I was willing to accept the risk of frame weakness, which is NOT an issue after 1 year. 2) not only was grinding the sprocket helpful, it was RECOMMENDED in the INSTRUCTIONS by the company that sells the motor kit, thank you very much. 3) the float works fine, thank you very much and it was NOT possible to mount the motor any other way. The chain is horizontally aligned perfectly by the way.

So you have to replace a few parts on a yearly basis, thats to be expected
with any motorized vehicle, still worth it IMO

got it a few years ago from my Dad as a Christmas present and he got it from ACE Hardware for like $180. Just an update... I have some where between 5000 and 6000 miles so far and the only thing done was replace the bearings in the bike and I took the head off the motor to clean all the carbon. The rings still seemed tight and no scaring of the piston sleeve what so ever. Still starts with in 20 feet every time. NOTE: I have a Skyhawk motor.

Just had to comment on your video. One thing I noticed as did someone else is the float needs to be level. You said that it works fine but it probably is making your engine run rich. It would be a wise idea to set it vertical which I assume you would if there was not an underlying reason you don't. Otherwise good video and than you for taking the time to post this. I have been curious as to how well these engines and kits stand up to the test of time. How much is this bike used?

@REDBEARD885 Well, you may be right. He did do the install, and much of the maintenance before he left it unlocked and it was stolen... A far as parenting goes, I try to offer my sons opportunities to do many different things. I don't force them to be more involved than they are interested in projects. Maybe I should. who knows.
