  • @Twoosy I will be releasing a killer BT for this soon,,,Stay tuned!

  • 30+ years ago this drummer replaced Billy Cobham in the Mahavishnu Orchestra (look 'em up, kids) and delivered stunning drumming and writing (even some piano) on Jeff's 'Wired' album before mega-platinum success producing Whitney Houston, Maria Carey, Aretha Franklin, etc. True, Vinnie is sensational, but he was often excessive. Had he played with Jeff as he did with Gino Vannelli ('Nightwalker' album), he'd have been ideal. But - like Sting - Gino pressured Vinnie into keeping it simple(r).

  • @Twoosy wonderin the same thing

  • @nivekab

    YES !!!

  • one of the most beautiful pieces ever written, NO DENIAL!!!

  • Give me Vinnie and Tal any day of the week! this concert seemed so cold and mechanical to me.

  • does anyone have chord progression for this?

  • Some of you are trying to equate technique with taste and there is a difference.

Vinnie has a lot of technique but WAY overplayed everything much to a lot of people's annoyances.

This drummer is tastefully providing a groove while adding to the arrangement and also letting Beck know he is actively listening by repeating and joining in with some of Beck's licks.

That is the role of a band member. It is not to overshadow the band with every fancy drum lick you know.

  • I'll agree... he's a great drummer, but he repeats phrasing that Beck plays on the guitar for a lot of fills and it just down right sounds terrible sometimes.

  • Oh god. Drummer is nothing compared to Colaiuta. Wry, Beck, wry?
