Fantastic to watch. I would have done my 50 cent double that day always backed Oopik. I was 9 at time, so only got to listen to it on radio with my grandfather.

I'm too young to remember Grey Way, but I've read so much about him.  People's champ alright, he won on all surfaces at pretty much any distance. Super finish to this one, top effort by Oopik also, and what a great ride by the master, Bob Skelton.
