Funny how alcohol is recognized as addictive, but cigarettes are not.

So Don stopped drinking and started molesting children. He should have stayed off the wagon.

Thanks for the post. Good movie, but totally unrealistic ending. I figure the guy fell off the wagon again the next week.

Jane Wyman is at the height of her beauty in this fine film. The sadistic feminine male nurse was played by Frank Faylen who was a great character actor, he was married to Regis Philbin's first wife. The brother was played by Phillip Terry who was married to Joan Crawford and they adopted Christina, who wrote the book"Mommie Dearest." I'm intrigued by this story because it was originally about a gay man and I'm going to find and read the book to see how it was changed to make this movie.THANKS !

@Tarabos1 "Moral anemia." It's a figure of speech. He means he's lost his sense of morality.

What does he say at 6:39 ? Malomania ? M...mania? I can´t figure it out, because I´m still learning english ! Who can tell me? (thanks ´n regards from Germany)
That was a really powerful film.
I wonder if Ray Milland won an Oscar for his performance or was at least nominated.
