He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. I think that the foundation is a loving family that respects their children.

Spiritual understanding only comes by wrestling with god for truth. Children are intelligent, and if you teach them this kind of insubstantial stuff, more likely than not they will lose their faith when they grow up. They won't have struggled for their faith, they won't actually have learned anything.

Teaching of Christ is the foundation. Children need the example to what they value. If you value your life, don't build it on sand.
