Your a fun bunch. Comedy on the swimming and LifeGuard section. When will you be reviving the Hawaiian style Balboa again?

The song is "hawaiian war chant" or "Kaua I Ka Huahua`i ". The band is "I Belli Di Waikiki". Tommy Dorsey played it. But this is the best version, ever recorded. I visited the last concert of the band. And if you can dance any better bal-swing: Please post your video !!!

I'm more wondering about the very strange cuts in the beginning - this was obviously shot at two different performances.
Mixing hula and balboa obviously isn't a good idea. Maybe learn one dance properly instead?

Nice mix of balboa and collegiate shag. Obviously, this was not meant to be a true hawaiian dance, but rather a swing dance with a hawaiian theme, which is rather popular.

It's no worst than sports teams calling themselves the "Indians" and "Braves" & having their mascots wear fake Plains war bonnet & loin clothes while whopping & hollering on the sports field. I've had several white people ask me if I have "magical powers" while wearing my Cherokee regalia. Let's face it, there's offensive, & then there's slightly thoughtless - this is not offensive, and it's certainly not the "equivalent to blackface."
