  • The king/queen of melody makers. Intelligent pop writer-in my estimation the best at crafting word and melody.

  • An absolute hero for the bi-community........

  • Total genius!! And also a brilliant addition to the history of punk rock. Draws connections between punk and an already established underground gay scene, Bowie, seventies german electronic music, etc. His comments are so rich and suggstive. Thanks pete for an offhand but essential piece of folk history. And for all that amazing music.

  • @capricorn1968

    I quite agree!

  • I simply LOVE this man to bits!

He is a GENIUS, and to borrow a line from one of your songs, Pete:there is NO ONE like YOU!

  • @jblucio3177

Pete is still with The Buzzcocks, and they are still making great music! :)

  • What a horrible interview

  • What a sweet genius. Thanks.

  • I am straight and I find Morrissey miserable and the Buzzcocks were brilliant . So well done Pete you are a very self-efacing and modest guy. And one of the most underated song writers in the uk. I like the fact that you cant be put into any box or category. Brilliant.

  • @jblucio3177 I was so glad you posted this comment jb because I am the same. I brought my first 12 inch single in 1976 from them. I have seen them 7 times including last November 2009. Their songs about love and bitterness and relationships are more relevent than ever in this internet age. Look at Fiction Romance. Thanks for posting this great comment and thanks to NG for putting up this interview.

  • I was only a baby when he was with the Buzzcocks, now that I hear it, I think that his group was great, alond with sex pistols david bowie the cure most of all, were all great dureing the punk movement : )
