We don't have a free market economy. What we have is a mixed economy and that is why it failed.

If we had a free market, there would be no Fed adjusting interest rates. There would be no GSE's with an implicit taxpayer guarantee, getting below market interest rates allowing it to buy mortgages from other lending institutions; thus flooding the housing market with liquidity. There would be no laws forcing lenders to lend to low income borrowers and none of this would have ever happened!

The term "free market economy" if a relative term. Compared to many other countries in the world the USA has a free market economy.

Interesting that we talk about the goodness of free capitalism, but when it fails it takes everything down with it. Global starvation, depression, loss of wealth. When communism failed it was because people wanted it to fail, because Christians thought Communists were atheists or otherwise evil. They were the "enemy", but not for anything other than our being programmed they were the enemy.

You must be kidding, if you say that the US didn't have " relative capitalism", then tell me which country in the world has true capitalism? Name me three democratic countries in the world that have true hard core capitalism.

It's supposed to be that way. If you make it easy and comfortable for people to work the system, they will; as we can already see.

Look what welfare has done to this country. We let illegals come into this country and take jobs for less than what the free market will bare. The people who once did these jobs are collecting welfare and other government subsities.

The taxpayers are paying for people who are able to do these jobs, but won't because they feel it is better to get "free money".

There is no one starving in this country.

There are churches and organizations that receive donations for people going through tough times. Socialism only creates waste and makes things more expensive than they should be. When things are more expensive, people have less money to give to charities that make much better use of the money.

Our currency should be tied to a commodity. Printing money destroys savings and lives.

God never meant for us to be our brothers keeper. He gave us free will.

God also want social justice. I am sure you know the teaching of Christ. If your brother starves while you have plenty, your are not truly free.
