Cap & Trade is finished right along with Obama. USAF & NASA recently say we are heading towards a period of cooling this is really going to hurt Gores stocks.

@ajc55ny - Of course I make assumptions, as do you. I also recall that I asked your thoughts regarding Bush's degradation of our rights. If you are a true Conservative, you might reject them. My point is, there sure is an awful lot of people / groups that have suddenly risen up against Obama and his policies, while apparently ignoring the, (in my opinion), more outrageous / deadly injustices that have been perpetrated against not only this citizenry, but thousands in other countries as well.

@darliegoddess HA! Yeah, that was my first shot using one off my laptop. I knew it was obvious, but I am too busy to sit there and do it until it looks perfect. I figured, if Barry can use one, anyone should be able to. He does read one MEANNN teleprompter. You should turn off the sound on one of his speeches and play the Blue Danube waltz to his head turns. It's awesome! Next week I am trying it with Dark Side of the Moon.

I like the teleprompter.
Do you believe in anything other than wealth promotion at any cost? I'm a Capitalist, and a pretty damn fine one too. But, I know that all of the shit that is / has been pumped into our skies HAS to have some effect. If you take a look at pollution on a local level, you can see the effect of unregulated mfg waste. Look at the damage that was done during the industrial revolution and since. Look at China, it's river's dead, cancer and birth defects on the rise. Sacrifice is needed.

@louise12345 You set up a false proposition. I do not favor Climate Change legislation because I believe it is a phoney ruse. But having said that, it doesn't mean I believe we shouldn't be good stewards of our natural resources. Or that we shouldn't fully exploit our energy resources, guided by a rational remediation regimen to ameliorate adverse environmental effects. The alternative to opposing Carbon taxation is not environmental destruction. That's ridiculous.

@ajc55ny - I don't know what the benefits would be to lying about climate change data would be. But even if the data were inaccurate, we know that, to be effective stewards to the planet we need to get a handle on the huge amounts of toxic gasses and other wastes that are the result of rampant industrialization. We saw what occurred during our own Industrial revolution, now how will it play out with billions of new consumers? I can guess that if we do nothing, we will be in serious trouble.

@louise12345 You don't know what the benefits would be to lying about climate change? Are you really that naive? State control of industry and how people live their lives! That's the benefit accruing to the State. The air and water in the United States is cleaner today than it has been in a 100 yrs. There is no need whatsoever to make laws even more draconian. This is a war being waged on American economic dominance and free market capital. Pure and simple and they have you duped.

@ajc55ny - "State control of industry and how people live their lives!" Sounds like typical Right Wing boogie man nonsense to me! If you really were serious about loss of rights, I'd ask you your thoughts on the loss of Posse Comitatus (John Warner defense act), warrantless wiretapping, loss of Habeus Corpus for 'terrorists', restriction of Freedom of Information Act, Patriot Act, NSA databases, outsourcing of military services, etc, etc. All of this courtesy of the Bush administration.

@louise12345 You make an awful lot of assumptions about me over a single sentence. I am a conservative and I don't hide that fact. People like you throw around the words "right wing" as if it's a curse word. You refer to Bush like he was some kind of an ideological conservative. Don't push that one too hard, pal. Bush was hardly that. I did happen to notice though, that Obama sought to extend all those provisions you find so objectionable. Is he "right wing", too? Goofball.
