Tell me this: If plants are "alive" how do you know that they do not feel pain?
As for a heart: Is not a heart merely the mechanism that powers the flow of the nutrient stream throughout the body? Do plants circulate their "green blood" throughout their bodies to provide nutrients?
Nervous system: Sending signals to initiate healing, react to environment, etc? Do plants try to close their wounds? Do plants try to grow away from toxins?
Plants are biologically alive, but they do not feel pain. Plants lack a heart, brain, or central nervous system. So there is no reason for us to believe that they feel pain. In any case, even if somebody DID care about killing plants, being vegan would still make more sense, seeing as animals must be fed a large amount of plants before we eat them.
Global warming means that some places are getting warmer and other places are getting colder. So the fact that you have had the coolest winter so far is even more proof of global warming.
No matter what we do in this world we partake in killing. When we walk we kill many ants and little bugs that happen to cross our path. By breathing we kill beings that are not visible to the naked eye. So we try to eat food which has the least karma. Animals have a greater life force than plants do, and therefore incur a greater blood debt. The debt incurred by plants is very small and is easy to cleanse through meditation.
If you go after a cow to kill it, it will run for it's life. It has a brain like we do so although it can't scream in human language for us to understand it kicks and screams to get away..they want to live. If you go and take an apple off a tree or tomatoes from the vine, it is happy to be eaten. It won't run away from you.
Aren't plants also "endowed" with a "will" to live?
Do they not seek water and food for life? Don't they fruit & flowers to attract birds, bees, and other animals to help them reproduce and to spread their seeds?
Don't plants also make themselves less desirable to others with needles and poisons?
Though less mobile and their voices much less audible, do not plants also suffer when any of them is cut away and die if too much is removed?
Kingery.. this isn't a debate competition -____- you are twisting the meaning of everything
Does it feel right to stand next to an animal and kill it? Does it feel the same as pulling a shrub of grass??

Plants were not endowed with the will to live like animals and humans.
