This is a "Learn As I Go" Tutorial. I've done this project before with some of Daisy's pants - just not with denim.

Thank you for posting this I really like the idea. I am going to try this but instead of cutting out the seam I am going to open it up and save that much I won't have to add of fabric. Thanks agai for the video, Thanks!!

I have the same problem with my skinny jeans XP I have skinny legs and a bigger waist and my jeans either make it look like I have a muffin top or the legs are too big

I know it's been a year since you posted this, but it has given me the information I've been looking for. I seem to be built like a barrel, making it very difficult to find pants that fit right. If they fit in the butt, they will be too tight in the waist and if they fit the waist then they bag off my butt. This is the case no matter if I'm at my ideal weight or over. I don't seem to have hips. I'm going to try this, but I plan to use like colored fabric and not come down as far. Thanks!

Would it be possible if for skinny jeans that are too small for me to cut the seam to repurpose them as shorts, like all the way down the seam not just at the top, I don't mind sacrificing a bit of the skinny tightness as they are 1-2 sizes too small and used to flood anyway(go up above the ankles), but I thought it might look cute for some short-shorts using some fabric (I was thinking blue, and possibly heavy lace over for some decoration at the sides). I was wondering if it would work. :)

@WolfRising25 Yes. I've done that with shorts for Daisy before, too. I just opened up the whole outside of the leg and put a fabric strip in there. She loved the pair I did with girlie skull fabric. No one even knew that we didn't buy them like that.
