One of the most prominent scenes in 1953 MGM's The Band Wagon was the dance sequence of Mr Fred Astaire & Ms Cyd Charisse at the Central Park. Performing their memorable number of Mr Conrad Salinger's well-orchestrated "Dancing in the Dark" was scenically-stunning & enchantingly-glowing.He didn't have to sing or to utter amorous words in expressing his feeling toward her.Dancing in romantic music & at the proper setting had spoken louder than words. It's MGM's one of all-time finest scenes

After 60 years, this film and this scene still generate extreme goosebumps.

    May I get a second?

Agree. Ms Charisse was classicly trained and it shows. You never seen her perform tap dance routines as in the case of Giner, Rita and others.

Astaire definitely had style, and elegance. Love the white suit. Wish I was thinner so to wear something like that. But my favorite is the beautiful background music of Dancing In The Dark embellishing this dance routine., The music really made the dance number. From the '53 movie "Band Wagon"
