"Have you been saved?" What the question also means is: "Don't you wish you had the assurance of salvation?" Evangelicals and Fundamentalists think they do have such an absolute assurance. All they have to do is "accept Christ as their personal Savior," and it's done. They might well live exemplary lives thereafter, but living well is not crucial and definitely does not affect their salvation. Scripture teaches that one's final salvation depends on the state of the soul at death. As Jesus himself tells us, "He who endures to the end will be saved" (Matt. 24:13; cf. 25:31--46). One who dies in the state of friendship with God (the state of grace) will go to heaven. The one who dies in a state of enmity and rebellion against God (the state of mortal sin) will go to hell.

For many Fundamentalists and Evangelicals it makes no difference—as far as salvation is concerned—how you live or end your life. You can heed the altar call at church, announce that you've accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, and, so long as you really believe it, you're set. From that point on there is nothing you can do, no sin you can commit, no matter how heinous, that will forfeit your salvation. You can't undo your salvation, even if you wanted to. Does this sound too good to be true? Yes...Adam and Eve, who received God's grace in a manner just as unmerited as anyone today, most definitely did demerit it—and lost grace not only for themselves but for us as well. Regarding the issue of whether Christians have an "absolute" assurance of salvation, regardless of their actions, consider this warning Paul gave: "See then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God's kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off" (Rom. 11:22).

  • Steve, I cannot undo what God has ordained before the foundation of the Earth. Those who love God do so because God first loved them and loved them before they were created in the womb. I can do nothing but share the Gospel and if the Holy Spirit passes over a man then he is damned and will die in his sins. I have shown you error and you defend it. Only God opens the eyes of the blind, only God can cause men to love him. May Gods love open your eyes. This conversation has become vain

  • @JesusNonEnviromental in other words, rather than answer my questions, you just want to run away.... You only have to show your proof to back up you accusations. There are many thousands of protestants converting to the Catholic Faith, simply because they studied the Scriptures and understood the truth.

  • @JesusNonEnviromental since you must be speaking with infallibility here, show us the proof. What secret meetings? How do we "Not" share in the blood of Jesus? Prove that the leaders cannot be approached. Just show everybody here the proof.

  • @JesusNonEnviromental babble and gossip. Just show us the proof, thats all we ask.

  • @JesusNonEnviromental Mary said she needed a Saviour, not a redeemer. There is a big difference. Mary needed a Saviour to save her from the stain of the original sin of Adam and Eve.

  • If Mary was without sin as the Catholic doctrine of the immaculate conception would lie, I mean imply, Then why would Mary in Luke Chapter 1 verse 47 state that God was her Savior. She included herself with the world as wretched and hopeless without her Savior. We also see in Luke 8:19 that Mary had many children and they came to meet Jesus. These contradictions or lies within the Catholic doctrine are well known and they of course have an answer or a lie to cover that lie

  • @stevesilvia When you use occurances or events in the Gospels as your grounds for Church Doctrine then you are adding to the Word of God. This occurance as recorded is to show by signs and miracles that Jesus was God and able to heal and forgive sin. To take this occurance to contrive a doctrine for infant baptism is ludicrous and deceptive on the part of your sect. If you use that event to suggest it validates infant baptism then I will ask you why the infant is not lowered from the roof

  • @JesusNonEnviromental , more babble....and syfy gossip. Perhaps you are on the wrong topics....If what you say is true, show proof, thats all you have to do.....and sorry, internet gossip is not proof.

  • @stevesilvia The Catholic church has you confused and Im sorry for that. You might want to see what your Vatican is up to these days, it seems they are working diligently behind the scenes with the UN genociders to bring about a World Religion with Mary as their Queen Google UN and Vatican, changes are coming to your Doctrines again it seems. The rules change faster than the Mormon theology these days

  • @JesusNonEnviromental what we believe is that just as the first Christians baptized "whole households", we also baptize adults, children, and babies... The story from the bible about the man dropped down through the roof speaks of the faith of his friends, as Jesus explained. (perhaps you have become confused....)
