  • Adam a straight man who was formerly gay but remains a queen.

  • I don't consider myself a Christian but I believe in God and Jesus Christ, it's more of a personal relationship thing and I don't bother anyone with it. I believe in love. So FUCK I don't believe for ONE SECOND that homosexuality is a sin. Whether you love a man/woman, it's ALL still love. I don't give a single flying shit. I'm not gay, I'm straight as straight can be, but homosexuality is NOT a sin, it's the hatred towards homosexuality that is the REAL sin and the cause of many many problems.

  • @hookiebookie1 My pleasure ;)

  • @tecaltabiano Wow, very through, thanks very much! ......and i thought my knowledge of the bible was good :) I must say though that after looking at this video this guy clearly doesn't know what he's talking about as he himself never mentions why homosexuality is a sin, rather he just believes it. I reckon that's because he'd rather blindly believe something for social acceptance (not uncommon everywhere) then be considered different. But I digress, cheers /b/ ;)

  • @pppeeeppee :super-facepalm: Leviticus is from the OLD TESTAMENT, the OT, not the NEW TESTAMENT (NT). Jesus Christ never said a single word about homosexuals.

And Romans is not a condemnation of homosexuality. It's an historical account written by Paul about a sudden outbreak of pagan worship through sex.

And I seriously doubt there's anything more selfish than trying to tell other people how to live their lives according to YOUR own personal morals.

  • My point is:

Those who say that religion, Christianity, God or the Bible are against homosexuality don't have any idea what they're talking about. They are just speaking from their own ignorance and prejudice. They just distort the Bible to use it as an excuse for their moral insecurity.

  • And, finally, last but not least, there's passage in Romans 1:26-27 which, when taken in without proper context, has been interpretated as some indirect condemnation of homosexuality by God, when in fact it's just part of an historical account by Paul about a sudden outbreak of pagan rituals of worship through sex which included homosexual intercourse. So, that passage is not a condemnation of homosexuality per se, but just a historical review.

  • Now, back to Leviticus. The Book of Leviticus does, indeed, condemn all sorts of sexual practices. However, it is suspicious, when one looks at the English version, that the passage that's believed by anti-gay Christians to condemn ALL homosexuals is actually secluded from ALL the other passages speaking of sexual practices and, in fact, appears in a section of the Book that focuses on forbidden pagan religious rituals.

  • Then there's a passage in 1 Corinthians, famous for being one of the most mistranslated passages in the Bible, which would seem to imply that homosexuals go to Hell, but in fact, it's true meaning is a theological mystery, since what many translated in it as "homosexuals" or "men who have sex with men" was actually a word ("arsenokoitai") which the author of the passage (Paul) never actually defined.

  • @hookiebookie1 The Bible never actually gets to calling it a "sin". The closest it gets to calling ti such is in Leviticus 18:22, (allegedly) calling homosexuality an "abomination" (BTW: the Book of Leviticus also calls eating shrimp an "abomination").

Also, many (uneducated and cherry-picking) Christians preach that homosexuality is a sin because God destroyed two cities (Sodom and Gomorrah), allegedly, for the sin of homosexuality. Suffice to say, that's a lie.

  • PLEASE ANYONE I NEED AN ANSWER -

Ok, so what in religion / the scriptures says EXACTLY WHY homosexuality is a sin?

  • @chris241289 and dude you're two years older than me, you should know this stuff =P
