@t2p5g4 Easy. The Old Testament, or covenant, is now obsolete, and there is a new covenant that is in effect. What matters now is the gospel of Christ, not what happened in the Old Testament. God does not hate all but the elect. He sent His Son to die for our sins. That shows how much He ultimately loves mankind. I can't think of many people who would sacrifice their child for others.

Very creative.

So some of these people don't line up with the Bible. That is OK, because the Bible doesn't line up with the Bible. How can we reconcile a loving Jesus with the God of the old testament who insists we stone our bride if she cannot prove her virginity. I've discovered that the answer to all theological controversies is to simply to accept that the Bible is fallable. eg. Calvanists have verses that show God hates all but the elect, yet other places say God loves everybody.

I would highly recommend reading: 1) first hand materials (ie not filtered thru Howse and his 'journalists' 2) Understanding modernism and post-modernism 3) Read P Tickle's The Great Emergence 4) Read R Webber's Listening to Beliefs of Emerging Churches
Howse and his network are prob. not good places to get balanced resources....they have an american-religious ideological agenda that will simply obscure truth. If you understand Rev. you will see thru Howse. (-;

@hodakakid The song mentions John Mccarthur, Franklin Graham and Hank Hanegraff as a contrast to the others...."imagine listening to..." instead of Maclaren, Bell, etc.

Brain Mclaren is free to speak what is on his mind.

Jesus died for all those in the Emergent church. He loves every one.

amen, amen , amen
What's wrong with Graham and/or Hanegraaff?
