Title track from RAINDANCE by much respected artist Essra Mohawk - https://www.facebook.com/ESSRAMOHAWK.FanPage - who has been called "one of America's rarest treasures" by All Music Guide. Her ethereal "I Have Been Here Before" inspired David Crosby's "Deja Vu" but has gone largely uncredited. Enjoy @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1YkmhQytPQ

It should also be noted that Mohawk's PRIMORDIAL LOVERS was citied in Rolling Stone as being "one of the 25 all-time best albums ever made." Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYgCpwUn0Cc to hear "I Am The Breeze" from said album.

Mohawk also authored or co-authored of:
1) Cyndi Lauper's "Change of Heart"- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAQj4IJHxlE
2) Tina Turner's "Stronger Than The Wind" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nm1G1p...
3) Lisa Fischer's "So Intense" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swoSg3...

1995's RAINDANCE is from Schoolkids Records and is produced by Jay Verns, who also plays keyboards, Danny Parks on guitar, Michael Blaustone on drums, Dave Pomeroy on bass. Mastered @ Masterphonics by Benny Quinn and photo by Eric England.

  • This is a great song but I'd be interested to know its recording history. The "Maniac/Beat It " electric guitar solo sounds more 1985 than 1995. Did she have difficulty getting her music recorded? She's a very underappreciated songwriter.

  • @pnyc1969 Thank you very much as Essra is a VERY talented musician, as you know. Essra has consistently put out her own music for years, by hook or crook, no matter what. I believe she talks about the struggles with labels on her 2nd CNBC interview here on YT.

  • This lady is just a freakin legend. Thank god for youtube or I wouldnt have known about her.

    Thanks fecinny!

  • You call 'em like you see 'em....& I could not agree more.

Stay tuned as more GREAT Essra music coming soon.

  • GREAT SONG! and what a GREAT SOUL.

  • Thank you for appreciating the artistry that is Essra Mohawk.
