  • 10k on a fan belt?! They don't make parts like they used to, but they aren't that bad. :) The increase in mpg would be offset by the needless cost of putting on a belt every 10k. If I remember correctly, the proper interval for "fan" belts (almost all are serpentine now and drive all engine accesories), is 30k. But mainly look for cracks, frays, proper tension, and that it hasn't jumped one of the ribs on the pulleys. If that's all good, keep going! :)
