Richard, your "facts" are wrong.
First the Fiat 850 was a big seller around the world and the US in both spider and coupe.
Second, people did not "hate those cars".
Third I had one for 6 years and it did not have a spec of rust (1969).
Fourth, I traveled a lot in my 850 spider on the interstates and I did 80 MPH on a regular basis and top speed was 90, and I put 60,000 miles on the car and sold it still running great.
Fifth, parts were not only easy to get, they were cheap.
