The Fischer Quints were born September 14, 1963. They were the fourth set of quintuplets in the world to survive and the first American quints to survive infancy. There was much media interest after their birth.

One month after their birth, they were thrown a parade in their hometown of Aberdeen, South Dakota. The town does however make a show of respect the "dignity and privacy" accorded to the family. For their part, the family seems not uncomfortable with all the attention.

This is the end of the newsreel.
