The day after Tribune owned WLVI signed off for the last time Sunbeam launched 7News at Ten on CW 56 produced by sister station WHDH on December 19, 2006.
@videonut33 It wasn't a decision of theirs. Nobody would or could buy them but Sunbeam. Tribune sold CW56 to them. I certainly hope that 7 and NBC part ways. Although 4 and NBC will most likely never team up again.
Supposedly Ed Ansin & Company wanted 56 to keep the NBC affiliation from being taken away from them. NBC wanted an O&O for years with what he and the company have done in terms of pre-emptions and branding.

I hope that Sunbeam Television buys a station here in Connecticut. NBC 30 is for Sale

Sunbeam Television(who owns WSVN)also owns WHDH and they also own CW56. So that's probably why they did this.

I may be from Oklahoma City, but I can surely say that Boston television as a whole suffered on December 19th at 10pm...

Everything's different now except for the anchors, time slot and station.
