Very informative in learning how we are actually marked on participation. Not really a big fan of the bell curve, but I like the way in which you give us ample opportunity to achieve these participation marks. Wish i could have watched this earlier!

I really thought that the total sum is equal to the mark we earn from participation mark. After watching this video, I understand that we are really in a competitive environment as we are “competing” with our classmates. The good information I gain from this video is that, at least we won’t fail for participation mark in this course lol.

Witiger's lectures are already fun and entertaining...being able to earn participation marks at the end of class is just icing on the cake! Commenting on his youtube videos are another great way to earn marks... I was going through all of his videos and found that not many people from my class made comments. It's even less effort than putting up your hand and trying to say something in class, more people need to comment online!

As a student with not so good participation marks near the end of my course, I thought I'd write some advice for future students. The participation marks in hindsight are easy, you just have to make an effort to do something. The Professor gives you a good variety of opportunities, make use of them. Why not make a video? Its enjoyable for the next semester students to watch and its probably the funnest way to get them. I think its all about starting early and keeping a steady pace going. -C44

i like it, your the only professor who actually gives marks for doing stuff like this. It made me attend class more often and therefore learned a lot more.

The sliding scale means that it's not over when you just get 15/15 marks. Participation marks is almost a gift to you because participation marks honestly aren't that hard to get. However, the more you contribute the more you are giving to the online community and also your own knowledge.

I would have commented earlier, but earlier when I was commenting I had loading issues and still re loading didnt work- Im sure this video was made after I had brought the loading issue to you- so I should get some credit. But to comment on this video let me say Im one of those late guys commenting. Most likely I wont get my marks because of my late comments, so dont be like me and dont comment late.

I agree with Saima's earlier comment on how Prof Tim gives his students so many different ways to gain class participation marks. Tim makes all comments welcoming so don't be shy to participate you will just be rewarded.

true Johnny, all comments welcome - it is a free place on the web, as long as your aren't racist or a hater, say what you want about the course - it is only when students have freedom to make honest opinions that you can really share ideas usefully
