@mgmt73 I think, maybe, the discussion shouldn't be whether success defines quality and whether circumstance defines success. The National are able to pull of many a good 'fast paced' song. But never class themselves as a rock group or aim to be fast paced. The majority of their fast songs carry a melodic feel to it anyway. So I don't really understand why you'd even begin to compare Nirvana and The National.

nirvana is good not becuase kurt killed himself which was ashamed to music industry
because there able to make fast paced music
which i don't understand why these guys can't do this

@mgmt73 Nirvana aren't even that good. He died/killed himself. Propelling their music to 'cult' status. Bit like Joy Division (which are good). I imagine if Matt (singer) killed himself, this music would suddenly become more appealing, purely due to the 'narrative' aspect of the songs which often depict a lonely, sad man.

@pwalker1428 Like an angel, down on his luck, living in a van with teardrop-shaped windows. Is he offering the path to eternal life? Nope, just Smarties and Twizzlers.
I love the guys voice. It is somewhere between an angel from heaven and a creepy pedophile in a basement apartment.
