Turkey's European goal - 25 Jun 08

Turkey will face Germany in the semi-finals of the Euro 2008 football tournament later on Wednesday.

Many Turks see their nation's progress through the competition as being almost miraculous.

Their success on the field is giving many in the country a new-found sense of national pride.

Al Jazeera's Hoda Abdel-Hamid reports from Istanbul.
