I didn't say I thought it was bad back then, I said "mediocre", and I WAS comparing it to other movies from the early 90's. Compared to most current movies, it's brilliant

@Califacience I have to disagree, this movie is not "mediocre"....ok the scenario isn't original, but u can't say it's bad because it's a romantic movie, or we all know how it will end......in its kind/genre (don't know which word, sorry i'm french), it's a pretty good one (acting, action, "twists and turns"... :-)).....just compare to other movies (from the 90's)

@NellChenoweth I know what you mean. I was a teenager when this movie came out, and when I saw it back then I thought it was mediocre (it also got bad reviews then) . A few days ago I just saw it again after probably 18 years, and I thought to myself, "man this is great". It shows you how far the quality of movies has fallen that a mediocre movie from the early 90's seems brilliant now. It would get rave reviews if it was released today..

@ijhadiyah Yeah, Whitney was so beautiful in it (though the script sucks!). i've searched everywhere on youtube, can't find it bcoz of copyright issues& i don't trust the other websites...i was considering watching it on youtube for $1.99...it's the first thing that comes up if you put in "the bodyguard" and they give you 24 hrs to watch it (you'd have to give your credit or debit card info of course and it seems like the safest way to watch it short of buying it)...good luck!
