Detailed illustrated advice on how to bring terminal suffering to a peaceful, nonviolent end. This video produced by journalist and author Derek Humphry, is a great companion to his book 'Final Exit.' Humphry, who founded the original Hemlock Society, provided the direction and spoken voice in this video adaptation of his famous 'how-to' book which was the #1 New York Times nonfiction bestseller in 1991. This guidance is for the possible use by a terminally or hopelessly ill competent adult who wishes to avoid further unrelieved pain and distress.

  • Why is your book so expensive? Do you think Jean would have wanted that?

  • @MindAndMarzipan

It costs $1 on Kindle and a few dollars elsewhere

  • Respond to this video... Jean's Way costs $1 on Kindle and a few dollars elsewhere.

  • just a question what do you think of ludwig minneli i think i spelt that right, also i think he is a lawyer for dignitas and he is enligtened enough to see, that even if depressed people want suicide they should be allowed. A real pro choice advocate, what are your opinions of him?

  • Ludwig Minelli runs a fine and necessary organization in DIGNITAS in Switzerland. But I do not think he helps depressed people to die.

  • Pet owners euthanize animals when they are ill out of respect to stop them suffering. Humans should have the same right.

  • Everbody has the right to be the Captain of there Own Ship.

It's to bad that society is not really free, because of the goverment that get in the way of poeples right to suicide to stop the suffering. POEPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO STOP THE SUFFERING IN THERE LIVES, BUT THE GOVERMENT HAS NOT THE RIGHT TO STOP IT IN ANYWAY SHAPE AND FORM.

  • and now im crying... :(

  • @prymetyme226 Indeed it would be hard for anyone to imagine helping someone they love die-but this isn't the point - the issue isn't how you feel about helping your loved one die.

We never know what will happen in life, but in the awful eventuality of yourself or someone you love being in pain, without hope of relief ever-the issue is about at the least having the right to choose to die when you wish . Wouldn't you prefer to see you loved one die with peace, without suffering and as THEY wish?

  • I think the two top comments are awesome. I have read the book. It's the most interesting and intriguing book I've read. Your work will always have my support.

    Thanks...................!!

  • Just knowing about the Exit Bag with helium gives me a peace of mind: knowing that I could end this all if it all becomes unbearable. So, it is a sort of narcotic: gives strength to go another mile, to live another day, because a person has everything ready and can use it if a need arises. "And I can take or leave it if I please": give a person a sense of control despite the fact that life is totally out of control due to pain or suffering.

  • It's so hard to say goodbye

  • i have a very rare cancer, it has now returned for the 4th time. i must now have neurosurgery, the problem being that the consultant that will perform the surgry is very busy, i am very concerned that the cancer could get out of hand, my consutant at the momrnt who is lovely has said the there is no way that he wants to leavr the cancer too long as is could spread to the brian, i have adenocarcinoma of ethmoid sinus. i am the only one in ireland with this, i have no family to fight for me x

  • Many people are not capable of killing themselves due to psychological aspects- but would like to be dead. It is terrible that those people can't have assisted suicide. Let's say I am healthy but want to die for some reasons. Is doing it by myself the only option? Many people have no choice and try to kill themselves in bloody ways . When unsuccessful they are badly hurt. Terrible! Why I can't decide when I want to die, how etc? Sorry for mistakes but I learn English as a second language.

  • u made me cry
